Over the next week I will watch three films from Tim Burton and analyse the differences and similarities between each on of the three films.
During the week I have watched 3 films directed by Tim Burton, these films are; Beetlejuice, Batman and Alice in Wonderland. In these films i found lots of similarities and some differences.
Similarities
The similarities that I found in all three films are, that the films seem to be very dark and have a Gothic feel to them, I also found that this dark Gothic feel to the films represents what type of person Tim Burton is. The next similarity that I found was that there were a lot of colourful characters in each of these films, especially in Batman, as the character of The Joker is dressed in bright purple and green colours, and also the world of Alice in Wonderland is very colourful and creative. However I found that Beetlejuice doesn't have as much colour in it as the other two films and that leads me on to...
Differences
The differences that I found in these three films (apart from the plot and the characters of course) is that they all take on a different level of darkness, for example I would say that Batman is the most dark and Alice in Wonderland is the lightest setting of the three films.
Also I found in these films that characters are dressed in similar costumes and clothing, for example Jonny Depp's character and Beetlejuice both have long hair. However I found that there where less differences in these three films than there is similarities.
